About the role
Our backend team owns the services that match consumers with the right financial advisor — matching logic, advisor profiles, lead routing and the analytics that keep it all improving.
You will design and build Node.js services running on AWS, work with PostgreSQL and Redis, and help us keep latency low as traffic grows. We favour small, well-tested services with clear contracts over sprawling monoliths.

What you will do
- Design, build and operate Node.js microservices that power core product flows
- Model data and write efficient queries against PostgreSQL at scale
- Instrument services with logging, metrics and tracing so issues surface early
- Collaborate with frontend engineers on clean, well-documented API contracts
- Participate in a light-touch on-call rotation with the rest of the team
- Contribute to code reviews, design docs and technical decision-making
What we are looking for
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience with Node.js in production
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience with relational data modelling
- Comfort with cloud infrastructure — AWS preferred, but any is fine
- Experience writing meaningful tests, not just chasing coverage numbers
- Understanding of authentication, authorisation and common security pitfalls
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
